What Does Probate Cost?

The cost of probate varies depending on the size of the estate. In general, the more property and assets the deceased had, the more expensive the probate process will be. Probate costs can be anywhere from 5 percent to 10 percent of the gross estate.
These are some of the fees that need to be paid in order to probate an estate:
- Court fees
- Personal representative fees
- Attorney's fees
- Accounting fees
- Appraisal fees
- Bond fees
