Kathy K. McHugh

LA Law Center, PC

Kathy McHugh has a couple of interesting job titles at LA LAW Center. Basically, she is taking her vast knowledge of business development, operations management and guest courtesy training and using it to support the business development of her husband’s law firm. Kathy makes a point of answering all calls from new potential clients to properly “TRIAGE” them to help get their issues properly addressed in a timely manner. She conducts all initial consultations in order to respond to their immediate questions, which allows her husband, Joe (the attorney) to concentrate on our active client cases. She also helps clients with asset reallocation into an irrevocable trust for Medi-CAL long term care (nursing home) benefits planning and successful Medi-CAL application process. Kathy has taken all of the training and passed the test to become a Certified Senior Advisor through the Society of Certified Senior Advisors, which gives our clients a great resource of information about seniors needs in legal, financial, health, and social issues. She is happy to be able to help families in crisis with information that helps them maneuver through the elder care maze. She is also very proud of the YELP reviews from families that she has helped along the way.

Before she joined LA LAW Center, Kathy ran a boutique consulting company, called KMC Consulting. Here with over 20 years of business planning and management experience in international leisure and media business development (after 13 initial formative years with the Walt Disney Company & the team that built EPCOT Center). Kathy had developed a well-respected, internationally recognized reputation for providing professional consulting services, including operational “fatal flaws” analysis, new business development, operational planning and troubleshooting for a variety of leisure related businesses.

After being in business meetings in Abu Dhabi, UAE when the 9/11 World Trade Center Disaster happened, Kathy made a critical decision to close her consulting business that required a lot of international travel and help Joe build his law practice here in Southern California. She is personally fulfilled with this new career in helping families that need help in getting their affairs in order! Kathy resides in the Los Angeles Area with her husband and two children (that have both finished their college and PHD educations and are now full-fledged working California residents…YAY!). She also loves gardening, hosting family dinners, and taking care of the menagerie of animals at their home, including a tiny Papillion and a wild peacock named Big Bird (and his family) that she has tamed and hand feeds every morning! Her kids call her Snow White because of all of the wild animals and she loves it!
