Jim Wilson is a 1972 graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Law and is a 30+ year resident of Ocean Springs. He previously served as City Attorney in Ocean Springs from 1977 until 1980. He served on the Board of Directors of the Gulf Hills Civic Association and is a past-president. He has also practiced law, not only in Mississippi, but also in Louisiana and Maryland.



Jim is currently serving on the Board of Directors for The ARC of Mississippi. The ARC and related disability organizations and advocacy groups hold a special place in Jim's heart. It is his through his own personal family journey of a loved one with special needs that naturally drew him to become focused on helping those with disabilities. Jim is an annual participant in the DREAM Program's Golf Tournament and Wilson Elder Law Center is a supporter of the Special Olympics of Mississippi, the Gulf Coast Down Syndrome Society, the American Heart Association and the Alzheimer's Association.



Mr. Wilson graduated from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in 1963 and served in the United States Navy from 1963 until his honorable discharge in 1968. He is licensed to practice law in Mississippi, is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, has in the past held various insurance and securities licenses and has been certified in the area of long-term care by the Corporation for Long Term Care in Boston, MA. Although Mr. Wilson no longer works directly in the insurance or investment arena, the experience of having been a licensed broker has brought valuable knowledge to him in his elder law practice.



Jim regularly gives presentations to the public as well as community organizations, social workers and financial planners about the services of Wilson Elder Law Center and how Wilson Elder Law Center can help seniors and those who love them as they journey through the maze of aging by fitting the pieces of the puzzle of services together. Jim is a proponent of team work and believes that the concept of working together with families can certainly help ease frustration and confusion and in the best of circumstances can help avoid a crisis situation.



Jim has truly found his passion in helping seniors and their families solve the many issues associated with the aging process. When he's not at the office, he can be found pursuing his favorite avocation - golf! Or perhaps he would be savoring a book or two or five; he usually has several going at the same time.



He and wife Nancy have a blended family of six daughters, five sons-in-law and eleven grandchildren. Life is good!

Dennie is married to Kyla Nannery and they have a son Colin.
