Key Web Sites on Long-Term Care Insurance

  • May 21st, 2001

Did you know that nearly half of those turning 65 years old can expect to spend some time in a long-term care facility? Or that if you are 65 or older, you are roughly 10 times as likely to enter a nursing home this year as you are to have your house burn down?

These somewhat unsettling facts were found among the links on the U.S. Administration on Aging's new Web page that lists helpful articles on long-term care insurance. Categories covered include "Consumer Information," "Information and Counseling Programs," "State Information Sites," and "Statistics on Nursing Home Costs." In addition, there's a link to a list of companies offering individual and group long-term care policies.
