Liz Brendze, Esq. received her bachelor's degree from Brown University, and her law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. Upon graduating from law school in 1990, she was selected to serve as a law clerk at the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts, for Justice Neil Lynch, Jr. After several years as an associate at the prestigious Boston law firm Hill & Barlow, Liz moved to Philadelphia with her husband. She joined the City of Philadelphia Law Department, working on civil (i.e. non-criminal) matters. She focused on two areas where federal law intersected with local programs: the Americans with Disabilities Act as applied to the City's policies, procedures, and physical structures; and federal regulations governing the City's location of federal funds to private nonprofit organizations to provide housing counseling, build affordable housing, and stimulate economic development.
Liz also taught legal writing, as an adjunct professor at Temple University Law School.
