Attorney Profile

After graduating summa cum laude from Central Connecticut State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy (and a minor in Theatre), Kathleen went straight to law school with the goal of learning everything she could about disability law.

In 2013, Kathleen graduated from Western New England University at the top of her class and was the recipient of the Norman Prance Award, an honor bestowed upon the student demonstrating the highest academic and personal achievement. She was also honored by her fellow classmates, who selected her as the student commencement speaker. In her speech, Kathleen shared her thoughts on the importance of knowing when to lean on others for support and when to take up the torch and lead.

Prior to co-founding Disability Planning Partners with Claudia, Kathleen had the distinct honor of clerking for two Judges on the Connecticut Appellate Court. She also served as a special education attorney, advocating for the rights of students with disabilities within the school system. Kathleen later expanded her passion for disability planning into the realm of elder law and estate planning. She is an active member of the Elder Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association and serves as the Co-Chair of the Elder Law Committee through the Young Lawyers Section.

In her work with Disability Planning Partners, Kathleen seeks to help individuals of all ages and levels of need to respond to present challenges, prepare for future needs, and to rest more readily with a newfound peace of mind.

Firm Description

At Disability Planning Partners, we’re more than just another Hartford estate planning attorney—we’re a team of dedicated legal professionals, committed to helping individuals throughout the state take care of their immediate needs and prepare for their future. Disability and estate planning can feel daunting, which is why our firm works directly with you to create an entire comprehensive disability plan tailored to your unique needs. We can also assist you with drafting a will or trust, as well as matters of probate law, though we never solely focus on simply drafting paperwork. Instead, we always take the time to understand your individual goals, working together with you to attain ideal solutions to an array of complex legal issues involving the four spheres of disability: intellectual and developmental disabilities; younger onset disease process; catastrophic injury; and age-related disabilities.

We strive to create meaningful, lasting relationships with each and every one of our clients and truly value creating a complete plan for a disability, even though you or your loved one may be healthy right now. When things change or life gets complicated, our team is here to offer you the sound legal counsel and compassionate guidance you need.
