Who are the "remaindermen"? What is a "pourover will"? Like other legal specialties, elder law has its own vocabulary that often can seem like another language to the uninitiated.

To help in the translation process, we''ve just added a Glossary to the Resources section of our site. The Glossary is made up of selections from the Dictionary of Eldercare Terminology by Walter Feldesman (2nd Edition, National Information Services Corporation).

The Glossary goes far beyond simple definitions, providing in-depth explanations of terms and how they might apply to you. For example, the entry on "Reverse Mortgages" not only tells you what these useful financial arrangements are, but also explains their advantages to the older homeowner, the different ways they can be structured, and the major lenders that offer them.
