Search for Elder Law Attorneys
Attorney William Nolan’s focus is elder law, estate planning and the probate of the estates of those who have died. These areas of the law include wills and trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, HIPAA waivers, Medicaid planning and Medicaid applications, Veteran’s benefits consulting and VA claims, Conservatorships and Guardianships, and helping executors and administrators understand the rules of probate. He does not provide any of the services that lawyers on TV or billboards provide.
Over the years he has served in a variety of roles for the State and local bar associations. Some of those roles include:
- Charter member of the State Bar’s Elder Law section
- Former chair of the Real Property, Probate and Trust bar section
- Recurring chair of the Birmingham Bar’s Elder Law committee
- Member of Birmingham Inns of Court
He also served for a number of years as the chair of the Jefferson County Area Council on Aging, the nonprofit that provides Meals on Wheels to those in need. Bill has also been recognized as a “Top Lawyer in Elder Law” by Birmingham Magazine for five years in a row
Nolan Elder Law and Estate Planning, LLC is a niche practice. While some law firms attempt to meet every conceivable legal need, we have chosen a different approach. Our focus is narrow but deep. We work with seniors every day. We work with families needing estate planning every day. We work with families who have lost loved ones and now they face probate. We work with families who have members with special needs. We work with veterans. We work with Medicaid applicants. We make house-calls on individuals who are shut-ins. That is what we do.
