James M. Miskell
For the past decade, Jim has been in private practice and now specializes in wills, trusts, estate planning, and elder law, ensuring that the wishes of his clients are meticulously carried out.
He has developed a passion for these areas and no one is more knowledgeable or well-versed in the nuances, technicalities and pitfalls that are involved in estate planning.
He has litigated in nearly all courts in Georgia, including municipal, state & recorder’s court, probate court, superior court, the Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, and federal courts.
His specialization in this complicated and often overlooked area of the law allows him to make sure clients receive individual advice and guidance they need for their own estate planning needs, as opposed to the one-size-fits-all, cookie-cutter approach used by other law firms. There is no scenario in this field that Jim has not encountered. He feels called to use his unique knowledge and experience to help his clients rest easy, knowing their assets are protected, loved ones provided for, and affairs handled - correctly.
Any law firm can sell you an estate plan and push you out the door. At our main office in Johns Creek, however, we enroll our clients in the estate planning process rather than giving them a one-size-fits-all plan that may not be in line with their goals.
When guiding you through the process, we listen first because we know that we cannot help you reach your goals unless we know exactly what they are. Through workshops and one-on-one consultations, we help you understand trusts, wills and other estate planning tools that may help achieve your goals. Then, we will help you make the important decisions about how to protect your assets and your loved ones.
At our law firm, the process does not end there. Many clients choose to participate in our maintenance program. Through this program, you have the option to attend our workshops to stay up to date on changes that may affect your estate plan. Our lawyers will also review your documents to ensure that your plan is continuing to promote your goals.
