Attorneys:  Gregory S. French

Gregory S. French, Esq., has practiced elder and disability law for 25 years. His practice consists exclusively of helping older and disabled persons and their families with retirement, estate, and long-term care planning and problem solving. He has been certified as an Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation, which has been approved by the Commission on Certification of Attorneys as Specialists in the State of Ohio.

Gregory S. French helps families select the most appropriate type of long-term care for a loved one. He also helps the family pay for the cost of that care in a way that maintains the loved one's quality of life, preserves the spouse's standard of living, meets the special needs of a disabled family member, and protects the savings of a lifetime.

Gregory S. French helps parents plan for the health care, housing, income, and oversight needs of a disabled child. He does this in a way that maximizes the extent to which the child can benefit from the resources of the parents and grandparents and from public programs such as Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, and Supplemental Security Income.

Gregory S. French helps the spouse and children of an individual in need of long-term care, the parents and grandparents of a disabled child, and others to meet their own retirement and estate planning needs. He does this by helping them to make the multitude of decisions concerning the naming of beneficiaries and the taking of distributions from IRAs, 401-Ks, stock options, and other retirement plans. He also ensures that their wishes are carried out and that persons they trust are empowered to act on their behalf by preparing individually tailored wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care decision-making directives.

Gregory S. French helps personal injury victims and the recipients of worker's compensation to receive their awards without losing eligibility for public benefits such as Medicaid and Supplemental Security Income. He does this in a way that satisfies any Medicaid or Medicare claims or liens and in a way that utilizes special needs or other types of trusts to allow any award to be held and spent for the injured person in ways that comply with public benefit requirements.
