Gregory S. French is one of 58 attorneys nationwide who have been elected a Fellow of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the highest honor that NAELA bestows upon elder law attorneys. He is AV-rated by LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell and is one of 16 Certified Elder Law Attorneys in Ohio. He also has been awarded the Paul Lichterman Award for Outstanding Achievement in Legal Services for Older Americans, presented annually to one individual across the country who has made enduring contributions to the field of law and aging. Gregory S. French has served on the Board of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and on the Executive Committee of the Board and has chaired its Long-Range Planning, Public Policy, and Continuing Legal Education Program committees. Currently, he chairs NAELA's Professionalism and Ethics Committee. He is an original member of the National Elder Law Foundation's Board of Certification and helped the Board to develop its American Bar Association accredited program to certify qualified attorneys as elder law attorneys. Gregory S. French helped found and chaired the Ohio State Bar Association's Elder Law Committee for three years, served on the State Bar's special Committee on Specialization, and now is an elected member of the State Bar's Council of Delegates. He was one of six attorneys appointed to draft Ohio's model health care decision-making directives, and he also served on the blue ribbon committee appointed by the Ohio Supreme Court to implement the recommendations of the Ohio Legal Needs Study. Gregory S. French founded the Cincinnati Bar Association's Elder Law Committee and served as its Chair for four years. He also has served on the Bar Association's Ethics Committee, the Board of Trustees' Community Services Committee, and the Estate Planning and Probate Committee. Gregory S. French has spoken frequently at state and national conferences and seminars, and he often has been published in state and national legal and aging publications. He has co-authored Anderson's Ohio Elder Law Practice Manual and edited Lawyers Cooperative Publishing's Counseling the Older Client in Ohio In addition to retirement, estate, and long-term care planning and problem solving, he has successfully litigated numerous elder law and disability law issues in both state and federal trial and appellate courts.
